Software Update: qBittorrent 4.4.4

Version 4.4.4 of qBittorrent has been released. This open-source torrent client has versions for Windows, Linux, macOS, and FreeBSD, and it doesn’t display ads. The program comes with Qt developed and is based on libtorrent (gridbar) and Boost. The program is the brainchild of French student Christophe Dumez, who has been working on it since early 2006. Today it is maintained by the community. In version 4.4, among other things, the switch to libtorrent 2.0 has been made and there is a separate download with an interface that uses Qt 6, which is still referred to as experimental. The following changes and improvements have also been made in version 4.4.4:

Fixed:

  • Correctly handle data decompression with Qt 6.3
  • Fix wrong file names displayed in tooltip
  • Fix incorrect “max outgoing port” setting
  • Make working set limit available only on libtorrent 2.0.x builds
  • Try to recover missing tags

RSS:

  • Clear RSS parsing error after use

Web API:

  • Set HTTP method restriction on WebAPI actions

Windows:

  • Work around application stuttering on Windows
  • NSIS: Update Portuguese, Italian, Korean, Latvian translations

Linux:

  • Improve D-Bus notifications handling

macOS:

  • Open destination folders on macOS in separate thread
