There is a new version of NewsLeecher. This is a program to read news and download files via usenet. The developers took a good look at programs like NewsBinPro, NewsPro, BNR, and GrabIt, then took the best points as the basis for NewsLeecher. The result is a program that can download from multiple servers at the same time, has support for the new yEnc coding, and can handle up to 99 theads simultaneously. Version 1.0 beta 26 has just been released and has the following changes:
1.0 Beta 26 release notes:
- Implemented a Subject kill-filter function that makes it possible to ignore incoming article headers with specific subjectlines. The filter can be setup from the options dialog under ‘Filter’ settings.
- The sorted columns in the listviews are now dark shaded. This makes it easy to see what columns are sorted.
- Turned off case sensitivity for regular expression searches. (non standard, but very convenient)
- Many improvements.
- Big fix: Fixed bug that sometimes caused NewsLeecher to lose downloaded group headers.
- Minor bug fixes.
