Download MotherBoard Monitor 5 PB-2.4
Alex van Kaam told two weeks ago that he will stop developing Motherboard Monitor, now the new versions of MBM 5 are flying around you. Yesterday a new beta version of Motherboard Monitor 5 came online, 2.4. In this version there are again a few bug fixes, and a number of improvements:
Problems fixed
– LM75-1 and LM75-2 readout
– Some more general character problems for foreign languages
Items added
– Email test button
– E-Mail MAPI and SMTP added to the same tab, easier to understand it this way
– 3rd party software section. This can be a bit complicated but should work okay
+ you can point to any program and make it start & stop at a fixed value of any sensor
+ you have to enable this using the enable checkbox
+ you can have mbm check if the program is still running, if it is closed then MBM will restart it
+ programs mbm started it will close when you close MBM
+ here are 2 samples:
* -1-
* link to cpuidle
* select your cpu sensor
* set the starting value to 60c
* set the close value to 40c
* check the “check” checkbox
* check the enable check box
* mbm will now start cpuidle if you sensor reaches 60c and close it if your sensor reaches 40c, if you where to close cpuidle yourself before the 40c then mbm will (within 2 intervals) restart cpuidle
* -2-
* link to a fan speed program (or any other you want)
* select your cpu sensor
* set starts to 50c
* set stop to 48c
* check the enable box
* mbm will now start the program, if it is one of those fanspeed programs then it will set the fansspeed and close itself, since mbm is not checking if it is still running this is fine. Once the cpu temp drops to 48c mbm will register this and next time the sensor reaches 50c mbm will start the program again
+ you can create some nice combinations this way, you have a max of 10 programs you can manage this way
+ a known issue is that if a program is already running when mbm starts it does not know this and will try to start it (again and again) if any of the values is reached- Lost of other little things I forgot 🙂
