Download iTmsBackup 0.5.2 beta

Version 0.5.2 beta of iTmsBackup has been released on Sourceforge. With this program, it is possible to backup audio files purchased from the iTunes Music Store on a Mac to another location on the hard drive or external media. With iTunes, Apple’s own software, this can only be done on CD. The program is accompanied by the following release notes:

Beta release 0.5.2 is a bug fix release, fixing all critical bugs from previous version. All users are strongly encouraged to use this release! Known Issues:

• If folder at “Backup location” exists but is not writable, application announces “Backup completed!” though no backup has taken place.
• If an external drive is unplugged during backup, the result is unknown.

Changes:

• Fixed a bug where application gave erroneous error message when lacking permission to create backup directory (#978623).
• Fixed a bug where application incorrectly reported insufficient free space on filesystem, when in fact there was sufficient free space (#977965, #977659).
• Partial fix of bug where application would write to root filesystem, creating directory tree, if original filesystem set at “Backup location” was unmounted (#980076).
