Yesterday the makers of Foobar2000 released the first version on their forum announced from the 0.9.4 branch of the audio player. This beta is via this page to download and takes up approximately 1.59 megabytes of disk space. Foobar2000 is an audio player for Windows 2k/XP/2k3 with support for a variety of formats including mp3, wav, aac, mpc and ogg. The functionality of the program can be extended with the help of plugins. In Foobar2000 0.9.4 beta 1 the following changes have been made:

- Added LAME version and partial settings detection for MP3 files
- Replaced old “Fix MP3 Header” command with a new set of MP3-related utility commands
