Dameware Development has released version 7.1.0.0 of Dameware NT Utilities. The programs are intended for remote management and administration of Windows workstations, servers and domains. The NT Utilities consist of a very extensive Active Directory Object Browser and the programs Mini Remote Control and exporter. The software can be fully tested for 30 days before purchase. The main changes in version 7 are support for ipv6 and nat traversal, there are separate 32 and 64 bit downloads of the Mini Remote Control and the program can be started from an external source, for example a USB stick. Since the previous entry in the Meuktracker, the following changes and improvements have been made:

Changes in version 7.1.0.0

Mini Remote Control:

• Minor Protocol Revision. Current v7.x users will not be forced to update the DMRC Client Agent Service on the remote machine, provided they are already running version 7.0 or above. However, we recommend you update the Client Agent on the remote machine as soon as possible. Otherwise, some features may not work properly (ie Proxy, Reverse Connection, etc..). Version 6.x Clients will require an upgrade.
• Added standalone Proxy Service (DWRCSPX.EXE), & Proxy Configuration Utility (DWRCSPC.exe).
• Added Reverse Connection (Connect To Client) option to Client Agent (requires 7.1.0.0 and above of DMRC application and agent)
• Added IPv6 Organizational Local, Proxy, and IPv4 connections to Invitations.
• Added GUI for configuration of DWRCS.REG file during Service installation.
• DMRC Toolbar and Menu bar can now be combined on a single line.
• Remote Clipboard sometimes wouldn’t work. Fixed.
• Potential Slow Connection scenario on rare occasions. Fixed.
• Intermittent crash in Mini Remote Client Agent User Interface (DWRCST.exe). Fixed.

DEXP:

• DEXP would not show as registered. Fixed.

Changes in version 7.0.3.0

NT Utilities

• DNTU Batch DMRC Client Agent Install could sometimes copy the wrong version of the Client Agent files (x86, x64) to the remote machine. Fixed.

Mini Remote Control

• No Protocol revision. Users will not be required to update the DMRC Client Agent Service on the remote machine, provided it’s already running v7.0 or later. However, we strongly recommend you update the DMRC Client Agent Service on the remote machine to the current version.
• Added checkbox to prevent overwriting of existing Alias ​​& Comments fields in the Remote Connect dialog.
• File / Install Service feature could sometimes copy the wrong version of the Client Agent Files (x86, x64) to the remote machine. Fixed
• DMRC Saved Host list entry was not always saved when invoked via DNTU or the Command Line. Fixed.

Changes in version 7.0.2.0

Note: Please first remove your existing v7 installation via Add/Remove Programs and then install this current version of the software. This build will not automatically remove any previous v7 installations.

NT Utilities

• TCP UtilitiesView. Ping & Trace Route functions did not work on Windows 7. Fixed.

Mini Remote Control

• No Protocol revision. Users will not be required to update the DMRC Client Agent Service on the remote machine, provided it’s already running v7.0 or later. However, we strongly recommend you update the DMRC Client Agent Service on the remote machine to the current version.
• New Host List entries sometimes would not save to the Saved Host List. Fixed.
• Group Lookups could fail under certain conditions. Fixed**
• Log Reporting would not create DWRCS.CSV log file. Fixed**
• “Use email authentication” setting could fail under certain conditions. Fixed**

MSI Builder:

• Various MSI Builder errors. Fixed.
• Temporarily removed 9x package build option in MSI Builder, and provided a default DWRCS9x.msi package on the Client Agent downloads page. This DWRCS9x.MSI package will install using all default settings, including Proprietary Challenge/Response authentication enabled with UserID: “admin” and Password: “1234” (without quotes). Please note this is only to allow you to establish an initial connection to this remote 9x machine. The Proprietary Challenge/Response information should be changed following your initial connection.
