Like almost every Friday, a new version of Caliber has been released this time as well. Caliber is an open source and cross platform ebook management program. Among other things, it can look up all relevant information and cover images, and convert e-books to make them suitable for the various types of e-readers. It can also convert newspapers, magazines and news articles based on RSS feeds into e-book format, and books can be purchased from well-known web stores. In version 1.12 the following changes and improvements have been made:
New Features
- Auto adding: Option to add files of all types, not just ebooks. You can now tell caliber to auto add all file types, instead of just known ebooks via Preferences->Adding books->Automatic adding. Close tickets: 1252814
- Quick view: Show the title/author/series columns in the same order as in the main book list. Close tickets: 1253022
- Update Kobo driver to allow sending kepubs. Close tickets: 1252688
- Allow right clicking on covers to copy them in the metadata cover download dialog. Close tickets: 1251793

- Titlecase: Fix incorrect title casing for some non-English words. Close tickets: 1253692
- Kobo driver: Fix errors when using rating or numerical custom columns to create shelves. Close tickets: 1253637
- E-book viewer: Allow searching to work with hyphenation enabled, provided you are searching for whole words. Searching for partial words may still not work. For robust searching, turn off hyphenation in the viewer preferences.
- Get books: Update the B&N UK store plugin to handle changes to the B&N UK website
- Apply changes being edited when clicking apply in the email preferences list. Close tickets: 1252758
- Fix crash on linux systems whose fontconfig configuration includes paths to in an undecodable encoding.
- Fix editing custom column values in the book list not allowing change of case. Close tickets: 1251768
- Kobo driver: Fix latest firmware update for Kobo Wifi causing caliber to not recognize it. Close tickets: 1251536
- Content server: Fix virtual libraries with an ampersand in their names not working
