Samsung releases new UHD screens

Samsung has launched two new UHD monitors. These are the UE590, with a diagonal of 23.5″ or 28″, and the EU850, which will be available in the flavors 23.5″, 28″ and 31.5″. With the screens, the manufacturer is aiming respectively at the consumer market and business.

Samsung previously announced that the two UHD models will be on the market. Both have support for AMD’s FreeSync technology, the counterpart of Nvidia’s G-Sync.

According to the company, the UE590 is immediately available. The variant with 23.5″ panel has a suggested retail price of 499 euros, while the 28-inch model has a price of 549 euros. In addition to a UHD resolution of 3840×2160 pixels, the screen has a contrast of 1000:1. The response time of the 28″ model is 1ms, while the smaller 4ms is slightly slower.

With the UE850, Samsung is mainly targeting business users. Compared to the UE590, there are more connection options. For example, in addition to DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0, there is also a connection for mini display port, and there are also four USB 3.0 ports built-in. The UE850 is also adjustable in height.

The 28″ version of the UE850 is also available immediately, for a price of 649 euros. The 31.5″ version has to wait until next month and the price is 1199 euros. The 23.5″ version will be released in August and costs 599 euros.
