Motorola is said to have a smartphone in the pipeline codenamed Frontier. It would have a 200-megapixel camera and a variant of the current Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-soc. It appears to be a high-end smartphone.

The Frontier would use the Samsung HP1 camera sensor, something that was already rumored last year. That is a 1/1.22″ sensor of 82.5mm². The second camera, equipped with an ultra-wide angle lens, would be a 50-megapixel sensor in the form of a Samsung JN1. It is 1/2.76″, about 20mm². The third camera is a telephoto camera with 2x zoom relative to the primary camera. The sensor is a Sony IMX663, a 1/2.93″ sensor of about 18mm². The information comes from TechnikNews.

The Motorola smartphone has a Qualcomm SM8475 soc. The Snapdragon Gen 1 is an SM8450, which makes it look like a variant of this soc. Android Authority thinks it is Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. If so, that soc and with it this phone will probably come out later this year.

The device supports wired charging up to 125W, while wireless charging can be up to 50W. The OLED screen has a diagonal of 6.67 “and a refresh rate of 144Hz. High-end smartphones are rarely released under the Motorola brand. If that happens, it will probably be in the Edge series. Earlier there was a rumor about the Edge 30 Ultra The specs from that rumor differ slightly from the specs of this phone, parent company Lenovo has not commented on the rumor.
