Rumor: iPhone 6S will only get changes on the inside

The iPhone 6S looks the same as the current iPhone 6, including the antenna lines for wireless reception. The model will also not have a dual-lens system. At least that’s what 9to5Mac claims based on photos.

The Apple site has photos of what would be the iPhone 6S housing, and there are no changes from the current iPhone 6 to be seen. 9to5Mac has a good reputation for Apple rumors. The housing does show changes on the inside: the mounting of the electronics is significantly different.

If the photos are authentic, they will disprove some previous rumors. For example, the holes for the camera system have remained the same and the device does not get a dual-lens system. Also, the antenna lines are unchanged; a recent post spoke of an Apple patent related to material that allowed the lines to be omitted. While technology described in a patent is rarely incorporated into products on such short notice, some sites speculated that upcoming iPhones would no longer have the antenna lines.

The position of the speakers, the connections and the microphone is also unchanged. It comes as no surprise that Apple does not adjust the appearance: even with previous S models, the manufacturer only provided its smartphone with other parts such as a faster processor.
