References to faster AMD Ryzen H laptop quad-cores appear online verschijnen

The 3DMark benchmark database contains references to the Ryzen 7 2800H and Ryzen 5 2600H. Both are quad-cores and seem to be laptop processors that are faster than the current economical U models.

According to VideoCardz, the two processors are in 3DMark’s database and are in an HP device, perhaps a prototype of a laptop. The records show that the base clock of the H processors is much higher than that of the U processors. This will be possible by making the chips less economical. At Intel, for example, the powerful laptop processors have a TDP of 45 watts.

Like the existing Ryzen Mobile processors in the U-series, the H models get an integrated Vega GPU; maybe it’s the same Vega 8 and Vega 10 GPUs. The test results at 3DMark were run in combination with an RX550 video card. A tweet from Tum Asipak, which also relies on information in the 3DMark database, seems to indicate that there is a Vega 11 GPU in the Ryzen 7 2800H. That GPU is also in the Ryzen 2400G processor for desktops.

The naming used by AMD corresponds to that of Intel. The U models are the economical variants and the H models have a higher TDP and therefore higher clock speeds. AMD has already indicated in the past that the H designation will be used for high performance laptop processors.

AMD has not officially announced anything about the Ryzen H processors for laptops. Perhaps the manufacturer will do that next week in its presentation at the Computex fair in Taiwan. Last year, the company announced the first details about its frugal laptop processors.
