The Raspberry Pi Foundation has announced a $ 5.95 heatsink and fan for use with cases of the Pi 4. The cooling must keep the clock speed high with intensive use of the single-board computer.

The cooling can move 1.4cfm, cubic feet per minute, with the fan, while also incorporating an 18x18x10mm heatsink. The cooling fits into the lid of the official Pi 4 case and is intended for use with it. The fan cools the entire board, the heatsink sits over the processor. The fan can be set to switch on at a certain temperature. This can be set via the software. It is powered from the Pi’s 5V GPIO socket.

It is the first time that the Raspberry Pi Foundation presents a cooling for the single-board computer. Earlier versions had no cooling. It is unknown how exactly cooling will affect the performance of the small computer. The cooling comes out immediately for 5.95 euros.
