QNAP Introduces Its First Nas Systems With AMD Quad-cores

QNAP has announced four NAS systems with AMD quad-cores. It concerns two 8bay models, a 6bay variant and a 4bay NAS. One of the 8bay models comes with a 10GbE port as standard.

The storage systems in the TVS-x63 series will have an AMD Embedded G-Series soc with four cores, a clock speed of 2.4GHz and a Radeon GPU. The chips provide support for up to 16GB of RAM, hardware encryption options and support for AMD-V virtualization.

The systems also have sata 600 connections, two gigabit lan ports, pci-e and 10GbE. There are also five USB 3.0 ports and two HDMI ports. QNAP equips the TVS-863+ with 10GbE as standard and this 8bay model also gets 8GB of RAM. The TVS-863 is a variant with 4GB of ram, while the TVS-663 has to make do with six drive bays and the same amount of RAM. Finally, the TVS-463 is a 4bay model with 4GB ram. Later this month, the NAS systems should come on the market for unknown prices.
