PXR, the publisher of, among others, Voetbal International, takes over Bright from RTL. It is unknown how much the publisher pays for the brand. Bright has already put its own site online.
PXR wants to expand its portfolio with the acquisition, says the publisher. RTL reports that Bright ‘no longer fit in with the strategic course’ of the company and that it has therefore looked for a buyer for Bright. RTL said earlier that it had put Bright in the window.
RTL closed the Bright site in 2020, but it is now online again, says the brand. The archive can also be found on the site. Bright has been around since 2005, but in recent years has mainly been active on its social media channels. Written articles were only published on the RTL News site in recent years. According to Bright, there will be new apps for iOS and Android.
Bright was originally an independent publication that included a magazine. RTL took over Bright eight years ago. The plan then was to make a weekly TV program. That has existed for some time. Last year Bright also released a TV program about transport under the name Bright op Tires.
