Photos have appeared that presumably show the new iPad that Apple will announce next week. The images show an A8X soc, indicating that the tablet will likely get a slightly faster processor than the recently released iPhone 6.
The photos have been put online by the Taiwanese site Apple Club and show a number of parts of what is supposed to be the new iPad Air 2. One of the parts shown is the A8X soc, although it is not clearly visible in the photos. It is therefore probably a successor to the A8-soc that serves in the iPhone 6. The photos also suggest that the TouchID fingerprint scanner is present and the screen frame is shown.
Given the naming, the new iPad will have a faster processor than that in the iPhone 6. Apple has already used the suffix X to make a faster version of an existing soc. However, the exact specifications of the A8X are not yet known. Apple Club does state that the iPad Air 2 will have 2GB of RAM.
On October 16, Apple will hold an event likely to announce the new iPad Air 2. During that event, the company is also likely to release new iMacs.
