Cinema chain Pathé has released an update for its iPhone app so that visitors can now purchase their tickets via the mobile application. Payment is made via PayPal, credit card or Hyves Checkout
The Pathé app has been available for iOS, Android and Symbian for some time, but until now did not offer the possibility to buy tickets. The iOS version is now the first variant that makes this possible. Customers can choose a film, location and time from the application and then pay for the reserved tickets via PayPal, credit card or the payment service of the social network Hyves.
After the payment has been completed, a 2D barcode is generated that is scanned in the cinema. Owners of a Pathé Unlimited Card can use the app to reserve tickets. The cinema chain expects that ten percent of all tickets will be purchased via the mobile application within two years.
