Chinese smartphone maker Nubia has announced the Red Magic 6 and 6 Pro, the latest generation of its gaming phone. The Red Magic 6 phones include an OLED screen with a refresh rate of 165Hz.

The screen of the phones has a diagonal of 6.8″, a ratio of 20:9 and a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. It is a screen of 15.8×7.1 cm with an area of 112 square centimeters. The screen can be up to up to 165Hz, but will automatically switch between 165, 120, 90 and 60Hz if users want to, registering touches 500 times per second with a single finger and 360 times per second with multitouch, cutting response time to 8ms, Nubia says .

The Red Magic 6 phones have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888-soc, with 8 or 12GB Lpddr5 memory and 128 or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The sound from it is approximately 28dB, with 59 blades each 0.1mm thick and capable of spinning at a maximum speed of 14 meters per second. There is also a 0.3mm thick vapor chamber and copper foil over the battery for cooling. The housing itself is made of an aluminum alloy selected by the manufacturer for its ability to dissipate heat. The gaming phone also has shoulder buttons and a game button on the case to start the game mode in the software.

One of the differences between the phones is the battery. The Pro has a capacity of 4500mAh and can be charged with 120W; the regular Red Magic 6 has a 5050mAh battery that can be charged with 66W. The phone also has three microphones and a 3.5mm jack. The Red Magic 6 costs 3799 yuan in China, converted around 482 euros. The Pro has more memory, more storage and a smaller battery that can be charged faster, and costs around 563 euros. The phones will be released in China next week. The global version of the phones will be announced in two weeks.
