Nintendo will release Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp mobile game on Wednesday, November 22. The worldwide release follows a test period in Australia, where the free game with microtransactions has been available since the end of October.

Nintendo has the November 22 release date announced after long using ‘late November’ as the introduction period. The first mention of an Animal Crossing game for smartphones dates back to April 2016. Finally, it took until October this year before Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was officially announced. Nintendo would have wanted to focus on its other smartphone games first: Fire Emblem Heroes and Super Mario Run.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is a free game for iOS and Android that requires an internet connection. The player takes on the role of a campground manager and must make provisions and collect insects and fruits. Microtransactions speed up the time it takes to collect building materials and make supplies. The materials can be exchanged with other players.
