There will be a successor to the Motorola razr flip phone. In September, according to Lenovo CEO Thibault Dousson, ‘a completely new razr’ will be released. He won’t give any details, but there are rumors that the phone will get a Snapdragon 765-soc and 5g.

Thibault Dousson, the South African chief executive of Motorola parent company Lenovo, made his announcement in the Reframed Tech podcast. He doesn’t give much more details about the phone.

At the same time, XDA Developers spoke to a source who claims to know more about the phone. That would include a Snapdragon 765 processor. That soc supports 5g, so it is likely that it is in the phone. The source also says that the phone has a larger battery than the previous model. In the new Razr, the battery would have a capacity of 2845mAh, compared to 2510mAh in the previous model.

XDA’s source also has information about the device’s camera. It has a resolution of 48 megapixels, with 20 megapixels on the front. The device would also have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, both an improvement over the previous model.

The Motorola razr came out earlier this year. The name refers to the classic Motorola folding phone. XDA’s source says nothing about how the new phone’s folding mechanism works.
