Netflix starts test with Android games in Poland

Netflix users in Poland will be given access to two games via the Android app as a test. According to Netflix, this is an early test and there is still a lot of work to be done. The streaming service wants to make mobile games part of the subscription.

Polish Netflix subscribers can install Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3 via the Android app. Judging by screenshots that Netflix shows, it seems that the Android app refers to those games in the Play Store. Subscribers will receive free access to the mobile games and will not contain any ads or in-game purchases.

In July, Netflix confirmed that the streaming service will also offer games. The service said at the time that it would mainly concern mobile games. At the time, the company said it was still in an early phase of expanding to games. Whether the plans go beyond adding mobile apps via the Netflix app is not yet clear. Earlier in July, Mike Verdu was hired by Netflix. He previously served as an executive at Oculus and EA and is now Vice President Game Development at Netflix.
