MSI is going to make the process of overclocking its Z790 MAX motherboards easier. There will be a ‘P-Core Beyond 6 GHz+’ option in the BIOS settings, which makes it possible to give the Intel Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs a single-core boost of up to 6.3GHz with one click.

X user chi11eddog shares a screenshot of the setting in MSI’s Click BIOS 5 interface. It shows six overclocking presets, one of which can achieve a single-core boost of 6.3GHz and multi-core boost of 5.6GHz. The feature appears to be aimed at Intel’s upcoming Raptor Lake Refresh desktop processors, as those are the first Intel CPUs that can reportedly achieve a Thermal Velocity boost clock of 6GHz. At least, if the KS variants are not included.

Chi11eddog states that the screenshot comes from the bios settings of the top model of the new Z790 series, the MEG Z790 ACE MAX. It is still unclear whether these overclocking options will also be available for the other motherboards in the series. The Z790 MAX motherboards were announced in May and are already available. The Intel Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs are expected in October.
