Microsoft has added a dark mode to its Office app for Android. Users who have set the dark display preference on Android will automatically see the app for Word, Excel and PowerPoint in dark mode.

In addition to the automatic setting, users can manually activate dark mode by clicking their profile image in the Home tab of the Office app and selecting Dark in the settings. The other options are Light or System Default, Microsoft describes.

According to Microsoft, dark mode is a much-requested addition to the Office app. The Office app for Android includes a bundle of Word, Excel and Powerpoint for mobile use. Microsoft has been adding dark modes to Microsoft 365 for mobile for some time, and individual Office apps for Android and iOS got this view earlier.
