Microsoft has announced ten new games that will receive touch control starting today. These include Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and Slay The Spire. With the touch controls, the games can be played without an Xbox controller.

Of the ten games, according to Microsoft, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is the only one for which it has adapted the game itself, in collaboration with developer Ninja Theory. The buttons are integrated into the game at Hellblade and adapt to the scenario and the different game modes. As a result, according to Microsoft, the controls will change during the game, depending on how the player moves through the game.

With all other games, Microsoft has not adapted the game itself, but only tailored the controls for the specific game. For example, with Hotshot Racing you get a throttle touch button, a steering wheel and a handbrake button. Microsoft has also made new icons, which should include ‘jump’ and ‘avoid’. For example, it should be clearer to players what the buttons do, even if they have never played the game before.

The digital buttons are adjustable according to Microsoft, whereby users can choose where the buttons appear on the screen. Microsoft says more titles with touch controls should be available on the Game Pass Ultimate subscription, without providing further details. Minecraft Dungeons is the first game to have touchscreen support. Microsoft developed the Touch Adaptation Kit for touch control.

Streaming games to Android phones is part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which costs 13 euros per month. This feature is still in beta and currently only works with Android phones. Earlier Microsoft demonstrated the touch controls for Gears 5. The 140 other games that can be streamed. can only be played with a controller.
