The latest iPhone 13 models will soon have an improved WiFi standard: WiFi 6E. This reports the Taiwanese DigiTimes. With Wifi 6E, wireless internet should become even faster and more stable in the future.
iPhone 13 with Wi-Fi 6E
Currently, the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 support WiFi 6. This makes wireless internet up to almost three times faster than before, although you do need a suitable router for it. The standard also ensures more reliable and safer internet.
With the iPhone 13, Apple seems to be expanding the WiFi standard again, with WiFi 6E. The ‘E’ stands for Extended and the standard is almost the same as WiFi 6 (also known as 802.11ax), with one key difference: the addition of a 6GHz band.
Now Wi-Fi uses two frequency bands: 2.4GHz and 5GHz. By adding an extra wavelength at 6GHz, more space is created. The extra bandwidth ensures that the speed is often higher in practice than with WiFi 6. In addition, it ensures more stable internet, with lower latency.
You do need a router with WiFi 6E to take advantage of the benefits. These routers are almost not on the market yet. Several manufacturers announced the first routers with WiFi 6E at the beginning of this year, which will appear in the course of 2021.

DigiTimes further reports that the LiDAR sensor is only coming to the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Previously, there were rumors that the depth sensor is available on all new iPhone models. The iPhone 12 Pro (Max) is currently the only iPhone with this sensor.
