Intel Arc Alchemist GPU has more transistors than AMD Navi 22 and Nvidia GA104

Intel’s ACM-G10 GPU, which will be used in the Arc Alchemist flagship video cards, consists of 21.7 billion transistors. That’s more than AMD’s Navi 22 GPU from the Radeon RX 6700 XT and the Nvidia GA104 from the RTX 3070 Ti.

The information comes from YouTube Channel Hardware Unboxed, which has received additional data about Intel’s new GPUs. According to that YouTube channel, the ACM-G10 has a die-size of 406mm² and a transistor number of 21.7 billion. This means that the GPU is physically larger and has more transistors than the AMD Navi 22 and Nvidia GA104 GPUs with which Intel’s flagship will probably compete. tech website VideoCardz on. The Navi 22 is used in the Radeon RX 6700 XT and RX 6800M, among others, while the GA104 is for example in the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti desktop card and the RTX 3080 Mobile.

The ACM-G10 was previously codenamed DG2-512EU and is expected to be used in both laptop and desktop video cards. Intel also comes with a lower-positioned ACM-G11 video card, formerly the DG2-128EU. According to Hardware Unboxed, it will have a 157mm² die and 7.2 billion transistors. That is also higher than with the AMD Navi 24 and the Nvidia GA107.

Intel released its first Arc Alchemist graphics cards on Wednesday. Those are two lower-positioned Arc 3 GPUs for laptops: the Arc A330M and Arc A370M. Higher-ranking Arc 5 and Arc 7 models and Arc desktop graphics cards will follow this summer.

The company also shared performance claims this week from its Arc A370M, in which the graphics card is tested in select games at 1080p with medium settings. AMD responded to that on Friday by claiming that its Radeon RX 6500M with fewer transistors is faster, at least in some of the games tested by Intel. There are as yet no independent benchmarks of the A370M.
