Instagram is working on a feature to share posts from other users in the Feed, where the original creator will be credited. The repost feature will soon be tested among a small number of users.

Instagram is exploring the possibility of sharing posts from other users in the Feed, much like retweeting works on Twitter. Users will soon be able to share posts from others in their Feed, mentioning the original creator. It was already possible to share someone else’s post in Stories, but not yet in the Feed, unless a third party app is used.

Instagram’s parent company, Meta, confirms that the feature will soon be tested among a small number of users. The feature can be seen as a response to the large amount of photos and videos of other users that are shared without acknowledgment. In a leaked image can be seen that for this repost feature, a new tab will be added to the Instagram app. Also TikTok test a similar function.
