HiSense is working on ULED XD, a technique for LCD TVs that should combine a high screen brightness with a deep black display. The manufacturer wants to achieve this by integrating both a black-and-white panel and a color panel in a TV.

HiSense is installing two panels for the full array LED backlight at ULED XD. The front panel is an RGB panel with 4k resolution, but behind it the manufacturer places a 1080p panel that only displays black and white. According to HiSense, this results in a higher contrast, with a claimed peak brightness of 2900cd/m² and deep black levels. The first TV based on this technology would only come out in China.

The company also unveiled its One Design. This is a thin TV design. The first model to be released is 2.8 centimeters thick. The sound comes from piezoelectric speakers, according to Engadget, but more details are not yet available.

The manufacturer has also announced its new lineup of TVs for 2019. The top model is the HiSense U9F, a 75″ TV with quantum dot layer, maximum screen brightness of 2200cd/m² and a thousand zones for local dimming. This TV will be released in June this year in the US for $3500.

HiSense will also release the H9F and H8F with Android TV in May in 50″, 55″ and 65″ variants. In the US, the company will supply the TVs with Roku OS, with direct access to the channels of this service, which has its origins in media players.HiSense also releases its TVs in the Benelux, but the exact release dates and prices of the new line are not yet known.
