Developer 343 Industries warns that spoilers from Halo Infinite’s single player campaign are circulating. The game’s first multiplayer beta, which kicked off on Thursday, inadvertently contained a number of game files containing spoilers from the campaign.
Halo Infinite ‘s creative director Joseph Staten confirmed on Twitter that 343 Industries accidentally leaked a “small number of Halo Infinite files from the campaign” via the first Technical Preview. Users then found those game files. Staten warns that the spoilers are now circulating online.
” Leaks like this are painful for the development team and can ruin the campaign experience for everyone,” Staten continued on Twitter . “So please keep your eyes peeled for spoilers and don’t spread them if you come across them.”
Another 343 Industries employee recommends that users create mute words on Twitter, which allow users to automatically filter out tweets when they contain keywords such as “Halo Infinite” or “Master Chief.” Users can do this in the Twitter settings under ‘privacy and security’.
The Verge writes that, among other things, a plaintext dump is being circulated, with 800 lines of text from the single player campaign of the upcoming shooter. The website writes that those lines of text describe, among other things, objectives from the single player, in addition to some descriptions of the plot, until the end of the story. The leak would at least contain a plot twist.
Halo Infinite will be released around the holidays for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Last Thursday, the first Technical Preview of the game went live, in which players can compete against computer-controlled bots. That same preview contained the game files with spoilers.
