Gameplay footage of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla can be seen on YouTube and other video streaming sites. It is about half an hour of video material. Ubisoft is trying to take the footage offline; the publisher wants to reveal the gameplay itself next Sunday.

The images appeared on YouTube on Sunday. Several videos were removed after take-down requests from Ubisoft, but a Reddit user uploaded the footage to Streamable, where they can still be seen in low quality. The images show a work in progress version of the game. It is probably a version that was shown to journalists.

The open world gameplay shown resembles that of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The video also shows conversations and gameplay at sea. A reddit user notes that the architecture in the game is not historically correct. The game is set in the Viking era, but the game also includes structures such as castles that were actually built hundreds of years after that era.

The video shows how the main character Eivor breaks through the gate of a castle with a battering ram with allies. The skill tree is also discussed, which is designed to resemble the starry night sky.

Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in late April. The game will be released later this year for PC and consoles. The publisher has shown some trailers, but hasn’t shown any actual gameplay footage yet. On Sunday, July 12, Ubisoft will hold its Forward event. Presumably, the company will show gameplay footage of the new Assassin’s Creed game there. The event can be followed via a livestream from 21:00.
