Google has temporarily stopped distributing the December update for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro because it caused multiple issues for users, including loss of connectivity. The company will release a fix in January.
Google’s Pixel team reports that the update has been put on hold and a fix is in the works. That fix will appear in a software update at the end of January, along with all other improvements from the December update. The notification follows complaints from owners of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro about loss of connection and calls, poor reception and the inability to call emergency numbers with Teams.
If you have already implemented the update and are experiencing problems, Google advises you to perform a backup and then use the Android Flash Tool to revert to an earlier software version and perform a factory reset.
The first Feature Drop update for the Pixel 6 devices was plagued with problems and in mid-December it appeared that Google had stepped on the brakes with the update. Then, last week, Google disabled the Hold for Me and Call Screening features because they stopped working properly after the December update for the phones.
