Google Assistant will no longer work on recent Samsung televisions from March 1, 2024. According to the manufacturer, this is due to a change in Google’s policy. Users can still use other voice assistants such as Samsung Bixby or Amazon Alexa.

The measure applies according to Samsung for all Samsung Frame, Terra, Sero, Crystal UHD, 4k and 8k QLED televisions from the year 2020, but also for the Samsung Smart TV models from the year 2021 and 2022.

Samsung does not provide further details about the motive behind this decision, but according to the editors of SamMobile Google’s recent adjustments to Google Assistant could have something to do with it. Google announced early this year indicated that it would remove or change some functions from Google Assistant because they are hardly used. For example, the company announced that it is discontinuing the driving mode in Google Assistant.
