Game fair E3, which was held for years in the American city of Los Angeles, will not return. The organization has announced this. The E3 existed for more than 25 years, but after corona it no longer returned as a physical event.

Companies now have other ways to communicate with other companies and players, a top executive of the organizing Entertainment Software Association told the Washington Post. “Companies can now access consumers and business associates in a variety of ways, including their own individual showcases.”

E3 was a huge event for the entire gaming industry, but has already seen cancellations in recent years. Nintendo had been holding its own Direct event for ten years instead of being present at E3 and in 2018 Sony decided to no longer be present at the fair. After several editions were canceled due to the corona pandemic, the event did not return in 2022 and 2023. The ESA previously said it was evaluating whether the fair could still go ahead.
