The first gaming benchmarks of the Intel Arc A730M laptop video card have appeared. A Weibo user tested the laptop GPU at two different resolutions in three games. Laptops with the Intel Arc A730M will officially appear this summer.
Weibo User Golden Pig Upgrade has tested the video card in a laptop from the Chinese manufacturer Machenike. In addition to the Arc GPU, the system has an Intel Core i7-12700H CPU and 16GB DDR5-4800 memory.
The Arc A730M also has 12GB GDDR6 memory on a 192bit memory bus and 24 Xe cores, which amounts to 384 execution units. It is unknown if the Weibo user used Intel’s Dynamic Tuning Technology feature in the tests. That feature seemed to have a negative impact on performance in previous tests, notes tech website VideoCardz† Because the video card is not out yet, it is also possible that the drivers are not yet completely finished. These results should therefore be taken with a grain of salt.
The video card has been tested in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Metro Exodus and F1 2020, at 1080p and 1440p resolutions. Metro Exodus averaged 70fps at 1080p and 55fps at 1440p with the High preset. The minimum frame rates in that game were 9fps. In F1 2020, the GPU performed better, with minimal frame rates above 80fps at 1440p. In Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, the video card reached 38fps at 1080p and 32fps at 1440p with the Very High preset. At the same time, the Weibo user writes that Shadow of the Tomb Raider did not start due to driver problems.
The Intel Arc A730M ranks between Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3050 and RTX 3060 laptop video cards, depending on the game. Golden Pig Upgrade already published 3DMark Time Spy and Fire Strike Benchmark Results† In the former the GPU was faster than an RTX 3070 laptop video card, in Fire Strike the card performed between an RTX 3060 and RTX 3070.
Intel will release its A500 and A700 laptop video cards this summer. In addition to the A730M, the company will launch a higher-ranked A770M and a lower-ranked A550M. Separate Arc video cards for desktops and workstations will also follow later.
