Firmware Update: Tyan Tomcat i915 (S5120) v1.02

Spread the love

Tyan has released a new BIOS for its Tomcat i915 (S5120) motherboard. Since the ROM image and flash program are too large to fit on one floppy along with the boot files, two floppy disks will need to be created. The first is to boot, the second to flash. This new BIOS fixes several issues, including not recognizing a slave jumped hard or CD-ROM drive. In addition, it is now also possible to boot from a SCSI hard drive and multiple models of CPUs are recognized. The full changelog looks like this:

New features and fixes:

  • Updated CPU Micro Coding
  • Added SCSI HDD selectable support
  • Fixed a HDD/CD-ROM can’t be detected if jumpered as slave issue
  • Fixed a S3 resume fail if SATA HDD is present
  • Support Promise mode switch
  • Fixed scroll bar and option errors for a DVMT30
  • Fixed keyboard LED illumination issue
  • Fixed Mouse Wake Up from S5
