Synology has released version 3.2 of Disk Station Manager, the management software that runs on several of the company’s NAS products. The Disk, Cube and Rack Stations offer more than just extra storage space. In this way, backups of all clients on the network can also be made and files can be downloaded via http, ftp, bittorrent, usenet and emule, so that, for example, the energy-hungry PC can be turned off at night, while the download just comes in. Furthermore, audio and video files can be streamed over the network via the built-in iTunes server, a dynamic website can be hosted using PHP and MySQL and it can act as a print server.

Version 3.2 can only be installed on the NAS models ending in 08-or higher and includes a refreshed look that makes more use of HTML 5 and CSS 3. Furthermore, there is support for ldap, there is a new package center and Synology ready for Google Cloud Print and Mac OS X Lion. Enhanced the compatibility of CalDAV and AirPlay with iOS 5.

Enhanced the stability of iTunes server.

Enhanced the compatibility of Media Server with LG BD player, Samsung TV, and SONY BRAVIA TV.

Enhanced the compatibility of Surveillance Station with Vivotek, ACTi, IQeye, TP-Link, Axis, Basler, HikVsion, Y-cam, Airlive and Compro cameras.

Optimized system memory management when Surveillance Station 5 is running multiple channel live views.

Fixed an issue where you cannot log in Personal Photo Station with DS photo+ for Android mobile models.

Fixed an issue about schedule recording for Surveillance Station 5.
