SMC Networks has released a new firmware for its 4 port 10/100 Mbps broadband router 7004BR which has been given the version number 1.96h2. Unfortunately we have to do it without a changelog this time, however the submitter told us that the issues with version 1.95u, which in some cases caused the router to crash randomly, would be solved. The following update method is indicated by SMC:
Please note your personal settings and hold your account data nearby. The update will delete all entries.
Install the update via Web interface (BR_196h2.bin) or use the file BR_196h2.exe which tries to find the router itself.
Reboot using ‘Reset to Default’ from inside the toolbox and then click ‘Reboot’.
