Media players come in different shapes and sizes. The prices for entry-level models, the ease of use and the possibilities, which are constantly improving, contribute to a large advance of these devices in the living room. AC Ryan serves the lower end of the market with its Playon!HD Essential and offers a player for a reasonable price that can play the most common media formats without any problems. It does not have a network connection, but can be connected to a computer via a USB cable. With version number 5.4.4.r2688, new firmware for this device was released earlier this month. This is the first time that the device is mentioned in the Meuktracker, so we also take a look at the changelog of the previous version.
