The group of fans under the name PlayStation Online Network Emulated, also known as PSONE, have managed to set up an online multiplayer server for the PlayStation 3 game Motorstorm. Anyone with the game and a PlayStation 3 can connect to the server and race online.

You can read how to connect to their server on the PSONE website. First and foremost, players must have a PlayStation 3 and a copy of Motorstorm. Then in the network settings of the console the DNS must be adjusted. This causes the console to connect to PSONE’s servers instead of Sony’s servers.

According to VGC, PSONE is also in the process of supporting more games, including Resistance, Wipeout HD, and Rachet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal. In addition, efforts are being made to make PlayStation Home available again. A video from PSONE shows fans racing against each other online.

Sony no longer supports game servers for many games on the 2006 console. At the beginning of this year, the company announced that it would also take the digital stores of the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita offline. There was a lot of criticism and that’s why Sony decided to postpone it. Last month, Sony decided to make it impossible to purchase games directly from the PlayStation Store from the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
