Facebook spent $23 million on security Mark Zuckerberg in 2020

Facebook spent $23.44 million in 2020 on CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s security. This is evident from a study by Protocol. The costs of protecting other CEOs from the tech industry also increased in the past year compared to 2019.

In 2019, Facebook spent $20.46 million on Mark Zuckerberg’s personal security. That means Facebook spent 14.57 percent more in one year to protect Zuckerberg.

Facebook’s chief executive Sheryl Sandberg comes in second when it comes to personal security costs. In 2020, the company set aside $7.65 million to secure this board member, compared to $4.37 million in 2019. So there is an increase of 75 percent.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai takes third place. His personal security was spent $5.4 million in 2020, compared to $3.34 million in 2019. That’s 61.6 percent more. The protection of Lyft co-founder John Zimmer cost 31.1 percent more in 2020 at $2.06 million. In 2019, that was $1.57 million. Snap’s CEO Evan Spiegel completes the top five. Snap spent $1.67 million last year, down from $1.28 million in 2019. So in 2020, Snap spent 30.4 percent more on security for Mirror compared to 2019.
