Dell has announced the first prices of monitors equipped with LG’s IPS Black panels. These are two new models, in 27″ and 31.5″ format. The 27″ version costs 992 euros, the 31.5″ variant 1307 euros.
LG Display showed IPS Black panels at CES, after which LG and Dell announced that they would make monitors with these panels. Pricing for these monitors has yet to be announced, but Dell has revealed two other monitors with IPS Black panels. It concerns the Dell U2723QE and the U3223QE, both 4k screens that fall in the UltraSharp series.
The panels are distinguished by the high contrast ratio, which is 2000:1 on both monitors. Normally with IPS panels this is 1000:1. Furthermore, the specifications of the two monitors are the same, regardless of the screen size. The monitors have a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The brightness is up to 400cd/m² and the gray-to-gray response time is 8ms, or 5ms in fast mode. The monitors support 100 percent of the Rec. 709 and sRGB color gamuts and 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The viewing angles would be a maximum of 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically.
Both monitors have built-in USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and act as a USB-C hub. In addition, they can deliver 90W via one of the upstream USB-C ports, which also support DisplayPort 1.4 and HDCP 2.2 in alt-mode. In addition, there is a single USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 upstream port and six USB 3.2 downstream ports. One of these ports is USB-C and can power a device with up to 15W. There are also an HDMI port, a DisplayPort 1.4 connection, a 3.5mm and a LAN port.
The two screens come with a stand that can rotate 60 degrees, tilt from -5 to 21 degrees and adjust 150mm in height. The two monitors can be ordered immediately.
