Extremely OK Games has shown a teaser of a new game. The developer of Celeste and Towerfall comes with Earthblade, a 2D game with pixel art design. It’s going to be a while before it’s out.
Not much is known about the game yet. Extremely OK Games writes on Twitter just that it’s a two-dimensional exploration and action game set in ‘a seamless pixel art world’. For now, the developer has only released a poster with artwork and part of the game’s soundtrack. There is as yet little information about the gameplay.
It is also not known when the game will be released or when more information will become available at all. Extremely OK Games itself only talks about ’20xx’ as the release year and in a blog post the company says that it may be a while before more is known. The developer says it’s “optimistic to think the game will be released within five years of Celeste.” That would mean the game won’t be released before 2023. Celeste came out in 2018. “The reality is we don’t know how long it will take, just that it will take as long as it takes and that is long,” the company writes.
