Capcom and Sony will release the animated film Resident Evil: Death Island on July 25 on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Blu-ray in a steel case. The film can also be viewed digitally, although the companies have not yet announced which services will make this possible.
In Death Island Iconic Resident Evil characters Rebecca Chambers, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, and Chris and Claire Redfield investigate various monster outbreaks across the United States. The seemingly unrelated cases lead them to the prison island of Alcatraz, hit by a zombie outbreak.
The animated film is published by Sony Pictures and is part of a broader series of Resident Evil spin-offs. Previously, a live action series and another animated miniseries within Capcom’s horror universe were released via Netflix.
