ASUS is launching a BTF version of its ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090. It has an additional PCIe connector at the bottom that allows the video card to be powered directly from a corresponding BTF motherboard. ASUS also comes with an RTX 4070 Ti Super BTF.

The ASUS GeForce RTX 4090 BTF and RTX 4070 Ti Super BTFvideo cards are new GPUs in the BTF concept that the manufacturer introduced last year. In the BTF series, also called ‘Back to the Future’, ASUS offers motherboards and video cards with power connections on the bottom of both products. This should simplify cable management and make PC builds look better.

The video cards in question have a small PCIe High-Power connector, which can deliver up to 600W of power. They can be used in combination with certain ASUS BTF motherboards, which have a corresponding connection. The video cards therefore do not require a 12Vhpwr cable or other connection to receive power. ASUS supplies a BTF version of its existing GeForce RTX 4090 ROG Strix, in addition to a white RTX 4070 Ti TUF Gaming, both with three fans.

ASUS comes with two different types of BTF motherboards. The BTF Advanced models have a PCIe power connection for the video cards mentioned above. ASUS is showing two such models during CES: a ROG Maximus Z790 Hero BTF and a TUF Gaming Z790-BTF Wi-Fi. These motherboards also have power connections on the back, such as the ATX power connection with 24 pins and the 8-pin connection for the CPU.

ASUS also comes with two BTF housings that have the correct notches so that the cables can be plugged into the back of the motherboard. These are the Hyperion GR701 BTF and GT302, in the ROG and TUF Gaming series respectively. ASUS does not report when the various BTF products will be released or what they will cost.
