Archos has announced an electric scooter with a dashboard that runs on Android Oreo. The 5″ screen is built into the Citee Connect in a water- and shock-resistant housing.

Archos speaks in his announcement of a multimedia dashboard. An image shows that the screen can be used to navigate with Google Maps. The manufacturer also reports that the dashboard runs Android Oreo and has a quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of flash storage. There is also 3g support. Presumably, the dashboard has all the functionality of an Android smartphone.

The Archos Citee Connect also includes a companion app. Users can install it on their phone and lock the scooter with a lock that is integrated into the chassis. The scooter itself is made of aluminum, has 8.5″ wheels and is equipped with a 250W motor and a 36V battery.

The electric scooter can reach a speed of 22 to 25 km/h. In urban areas, according to Archos, the range is about 25 kilometers. The scooter contains a system that can use the energy released during braking to recharge the battery. Archos reports in its English-language press release that the scooter will be released in the summer for 500 euros, in a German-language message the recommended price is 549 euros.
