The French manufacturer Archos will release an Android smartphone this spring with a screen diagonal of 5 “and a battery of 4000 mAh. To get the large battery in the smartphone, Archos has given the 50 Power a housing with a thickness of 9.2 mm.
The 4000mAh battery is a quarter to a third larger than that in many other smartphones with a 5″ screen and Archos therefore calls the new series in which this model falls Power. The device measures 14.5 x 7.2 cm. The weight makes Archos later. known.
The device runs on a MediaTek MTK6735, a soc with four Cortex A53 cores at a maximum of 1.3GHz and a Mali T720MP3 GPU. The memory has a size of 2GB, while the storage is 16GB, with the possibility to expand it via a memory card. The device has space for two SIM cards and supports 4G, although it is unknown whether 4G works on all frequencies used in the Benelux. The device runs on Android 5.1. The 50 Power will be released in May for 149.99 euros.
In addition to the 50 Power, Archos has announced three other smartphones. The 40 Power has a 4 “screen, Speadtrum processor and 1900mAh battery, and will be released in May for 59.99 euros. The 50 Cobalt and 55 Cobalt Plus are two Android 5.1 smartphones in a new series, and cost 119 .99 and 169.99 euros, both coming out in April.
