Spotify has released a tvOS app for its music service. That means users of the 2015 Apple TV 4K and Apple TV can use the Spotify app on their set-top box. Amazon has also released an official version of Twitch for the devices.

The Spotify App can be downloaded in the tvOS App Store, but the music player can also be downloaded on the Apple TV boxes by selecting the option in the settings to have apps installed automatically.

In addition, Siri is now also officially available with the arrival of the iOS 13 update. Users can now use voice commands to ask the voice assistant Siri to play albums and playlists. This was made possible because SiriKit integration for audio apps up to iOS 13 was available exclusively for Apple Music. According to the release details, this feature is compatible with Phone, iPad, CarPlay, AirPods and HomePod via AirPlay.

Twitch, which is owned by Amazon, is now also available in the form of an app for the Apple TV. Until now, no video player app was available on Apple’s set-top boxes, which may have been due to a conflict between Apple and Amazon. The functionalities of the tvOS version correspond to the Twitch app on iOS and Mac.
