Apple released its own Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s on Tuesday. The cases with a curved back for the battery should ensure that users can call for 25 hours and use the internet for 18 hours.
The Smart Battery Case appeared in Apple’s store on Tuesday. The case is designed for the iPhone 6 and 6s, not the larger Plus models of the smartphone. The inside of the cover is made of microfibre and the outside of silicone. The smartphone is inserted into the case from above. Among other things, the camera and the headphone jack are not covered by the protection. The battery protrudes at the back and the bottom is also extended by the Battery Case.
According to the WSJ, the battery capacity of the battery is 1877mAh and according to Apple, a device would last 25 hours when calling and can surf the internet for 18 hours via lte. In addition, an iPhone with the case must be able to play video for 20 hours. Without a Battery Case, the iPhone 6s lasts 14 hours when calling via 3g and surfing the internet via lte for up to 10 hours. Video playback is standard for up to 11 hours with the iPhone 6s.
Apple has made a black and a white case. The price is 119 euros.
