Apple is ending education platform iTunes U and will no longer update iBooks Author, an app for creating e-books. Apple has announced that. Content from iTunes U will be available through Apple Podcasts and Books.

Users of iBooks Author can proceed to the Pages app, Apple reports on a page that Apple follower Rene Ritchie discovered. The app has been around since 2012 and received its last update in 2018, but will now no longer receive new updates, although the app will continue to work according to the wording.

Education platform iTunes U will stop altogether. This will happen at the end of 2021. The service has been in existence for more than ten years and is used by schools, among other things, to compose lessons. Private users can follow publicly available lessons via the app, including audio and video. The apps Classroom and Schoolwork are for schools and students, and the public lessons will be available in Apple Podcasts and Books, among others.
