The iPhone X was the best-selling smartphone in March, followed by the iPhone 8 Plus. Other brands that do well are Chinese companies such as Xiaomi and Oppo. Samsung also scores well with the Galaxy S9.

The figures have been published by research agency Counterpoint on its website . The company is heading for Xiaomi for the first time a device in the top 3, with the Redmi 5A with a market share of 1.8 percent. That device costs about 100 euros and is officially only released in China and India.
Despite the fact that Samsung released the Galaxy S9 and S9 + in March, the two variants have not yet achieved the market share of the iPhone X. Both Galaxy devices had a market share of 1.6 percent, where the iPhone X had a share of 3.5 percent. Second is Apple, with the iPhone 8 Plus.
It is striking that the list of best-selling smartphone is filled with almost exclusively phones from the highest or the lowest segment, where the middle-class segment is represented only by the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro and older iPhone models. Counterpoint expects the middle class to increase in share in the coming months through marketing communications from Chinese companies in China and India.
