AMD shows new AM4 CPUs, including cheaper Ryzen 7 5700X3D with 3D V-Cache

AMD is launching several new CPUs for socket AM4, including a Ryzen 7 5700X3D with stacked 3D V-Cache. This processor is broadly the same as the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, but has a lower clock and a lower suggested retail price of $249. The CPUs will be released on January 31st.

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D is based on the Zen 3 architecture, just like the other Ryzen 5000 desktop processors. The CPU has eight cores with a base clock of 3.0GHz and boost speeds of up to 4.1GHz. In both cases, this is 400MHz lower than the clock speeds of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which AMD launched in 2022. Like that processor, however, the cheaper 5700X3D features 64MB of stacked 3D V-Cache, on top of the on-die 32MB L3 cache. The 5700X3D also has a TDP of 105W, just like the 5800X3D.

The Ryzen 7 5700X3D is mainly intended for users who want to upgrade their CPU and already own an AM4 motherboard. The chip will cost $249. The 5800X3D had a suggested retail price of $449 upon release, but is now available for $288. AMD does not mention the euro price of the 5700X3D.

New Ryzen 5000 processors for AM4

AMD is also introducing three new Ryzen 5000 desktop processors without 3D V-Cache. One of these is the Ryzen 7 5700, which previously appeared on AMD’s website. This processor is positioned below the existing Ryzen 7 5700X. The new CPU also has eight Zen 3 cores, but with less cache. The CPU also has almost exactly the same specifications as the 5700X, including the TDP of 65W. The Ryzen 7 5700 has a suggested retail price of $175. AMD does not share euro prices for this chip either.

AMD also comes with two Ryzen 5000GT CPUs. These both have an IGPU, although AMD does not say what kind of GPU that is. It may be an integrated GPU based on the Vega architecture, as is also used in the existing Ryzen 5000G processors. The Ryzen 5 5500GT and 5600GT both have six Zen 3 cores with a TDP of 65W, but differ in terms of clock speeds. The Ryzen 5 5500GT will cost $125 when it is released on January 31. The 5600GT has a suggested retail price of $140.
